Locus Sound Control
Your sound, on the right device.
Put your headphones, speakers, and displays in order once. Locus Sound Control plays through the highest one that’s connected, every time you dock, undock, or pair.
Why I made it
If, like me, your Mac is always docking and undocking, connecting to different sound devices and scenarios, you’ve probably experienced macOS’s forgetfulness about which sound device (or devices) should be used, and in which order.
I built Locus Sound Control to solve this problem. Set up the priority order of your devices, and it will use the highest priority output available.
And, from the menu bar, you can always override to the device of your choosing, and cancel the override when you’re done.

Set it up once, then forget about it
Priority order
Drag your devices into the order you want. When one higher in the list connects, sound moves to it. When it disconnects, sound falls back to the next one down.
Override from the menu bar
Pick a device from the menu and sound stays there until you cancel the override or the device disconnects. Switching in Control Center counts too.
New devices wait their turn
A device connected for the first time waits in a New Devices list until you place it, and is never chosen automatically while it waits.
Hide what you never use
Hidden devices are never chosen automatically and drop out of the menu. Forget a disconnected device to clear it from the list.
An icon for every device
AirPods, Beats, displays, and your Mac’s own speakers get the right icon in the menu bar. Pick your own for anything else.
Syncs between your Macs
Your priority order, hidden devices, and icons sync through your own iCloud account. Overrides stay on the Mac where you set them.
