Locus Git Gui License Agreement
Last updated 19 October 2026
This agreement is between you and Timmothy Allen Draper II (“TJ Draper”), who makes Locus Git Gui. It covers your use of the app. By installing or using Locus Git Gui, you agree to it. If you use the app on behalf of a company or other organization, you agree to it for that organization too.
1. What this covers
This agreement covers the Locus Git Gui app as TJ Draper distributes it, built and signed, through its website or the app’s own updater, along with any updates.
2. Your license to use the app
TJ Draper grants you a non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use Locus Git Gui, for any lawful purpose, personal or commercial, subject to this agreement.
3. Paid features
Some features of the app may require a paid license. Where they do, the app says so.
- A paid license is for one person, who may use it on every Mac they use. It isn’t for sharing with other people. An organization needs a license for each person who uses the app.
- A subscription lasts as long as it’s paid for. When it ends, the features that need a license stop working, and the rest of the app keeps working.
- Purchases are made through Paddle, which sells the app as its merchant of record. Paddle’s buyer terms govern payment, billing, taxes and refunds.
4. What you may not do
You may not:
- get around, disable or tamper with the app’s license checks, or help anyone else do so
- share, publish, sell or give away license keys or promo codes, except as the app itself allows
- distribute copies of the app. Point people to the official download instead.
- remove or change copyright or license notices in the app
5. Your repositories
Locus Git Gui runs Git on your Mac, using your own Git installation, configuration and hooks. The commands it runs can change or delete data in your repositories and on your remotes, just as the same commands would in Terminal. You’re responsible for the commands you choose to run. Keep backups of work you can’t afford to lose.
6. Your data
The contents of your repositories never leave your Mac through the app, except where you send them yourself, such as pushing to a remote. The app doesn’t collect analytics.
The app contacts the internet to check for updates, and, once you have a paid license, to check and refresh that license. A license check sends the license, the app’s version and an anonymous identifier for your Mac, and nothing about your repositories.
7. Third-party software
The app includes third-party software, such as Sparkle, which is used under its own license. Those licenses apply to those components, and their notices are included with the app.
8. Changes to this agreement
TJ Draper may change this agreement. The changed agreement applies to versions of the app released after the change. The version of the agreement in effect when a version was released keeps applying to that version.
9. Ending this agreement
Your license ends automatically if you break this agreement. When it ends, you must stop using the app and delete your copies of it. Sections 5, 6 and 10 through 13 continue to apply after it ends.
10. No warranty
AS FAR AS THE LAW ALLOWS, THE APP IS PROVIDED “AS IS”, WITHOUT ANY WARRANTY OR CONDITION OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. TJ DRAPER DOESN’T WARRANT THAT THE APP WILL BE ERROR-FREE OR UNINTERRUPTED, OR THAT IT WILL NEVER CHANGE OR LOSE DATA.
11. Limitation of liability
AS FAR AS THE LAW ALLOWS, TJ DRAPER WON’T BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS OR REVENUE, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THE APP OR THIS AGREEMENT, UNDER ANY KIND OF LEGAL CLAIM. TJ DRAPER’S TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS IS LIMITED TO THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR THE APP IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM AROSE.
12. Governing law
This agreement is governed by the laws of the State of Tennessee, United States, without regard to its conflict of laws rules. The United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods doesn’t apply. Any dispute arising out of this agreement or the app will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Tennessee, and you and TJ Draper consent to their jurisdiction.
13. Your rights under the law
Some places don’t allow some of the exclusions or limits in sections 10 and 11. Where they don’t, those sections apply only as far as the law allows. Nothing in this agreement, including section 12, takes away rights you have as a consumer that can’t be waived by contract, such as the right to bring a claim in the courts where you live.
